Apple Walnut Bars - Diabetic

1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp, salt
1/2 cup margarine; softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup Splenda granular
1 large apple; unpeeled, grated
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup walnuts; chopped, divided

Stir together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set
aside. Beat margarine until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
Beat in SPLENDA for about 1 minute. Add flour mixture, apple and applesauce.

Beat until well blended. Stir in 1/4 cup of the walnuts. Spread evenly in
greased 8-inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake at
350ºF for about 40 minutes or until tester inserted in center comes out
clean. Cool. Cut into 16 bars.
